Edison defeats Potters

EAST LIVERPOOL – The Edison baseball team rolled over East Liverpool, 8-0, Monday.

Nolan Marcus had a big game for the Wildcats, connecting for a triple, double, two singles and driving in four runs. Alec Jones had a double and drove in a pair with Brian Straka adding a single, double, and an RBI.

Dylan Jones had two singles and an RBI as well.

Edison (18-3) hosts Carrollton today.

Joe DeFallo and Stone Romano each had two singles for the Crusaders, with Brenton Colabella adding an RBI base hit. Josh Merriman and Michael Barber each had a single.

Panthers lose to Tigers

RAYLAND – The Buckeye Local baseball team lost a tight 7-6 decision to Shadyside Monday.

The Panthers had runners on second and third when the Tigers recored the final out in the bottom of the seventh.

Eric Banal and Shane Duncan each had two singles for the Panthers with Chase Hopkins adding a double.

Josh Sokolowski had an RBI single.

MORRISTOWN – The Harrison Central baseball team defeated Union Local 13-1 Monday.

Rashaen Mitchell had two singles, two triples and three RBIs, with Drew Horn adding a single, double and three RBIs. Dalton Rutter had two singles, a double, and drove in a run with Dustin Redish adding two single and an RBI. Austin Kowalski added three singles.

Molly McCoy continued to swing the hot bat, hitting three singles to go with her 12th home run of the season. Kayli Stewart, Cassady Jarvis, Lynsey Morrison and Caitlin Brenstuhl each had two singles.

Winning pitcher Mikayla Tice allowed one single.

CARROLLTON – The Indian Creek softball team needed just five innings to defeat Carrollton 15-2 Monday.

Mallorie Sullivan had two singles, a double and two RBIs with Bethany Davis adding a pair of singles and driving in two runs as well. Paige DeMattio had a double, single and an RBI with Abby Orr and Megan Markja each adding two singles and an RBI.
