Red Knights get defensive in road win

FAIRPORT HARBOR – The Toronto football team took advantage of six turnovers for a 34-14 victory over host Fairport Harding Friday night.

The 2-1 Red Knights visit rival Steubenville Catholic Central (3-0) one week from tonight.

“Fairport Harding was really a scrappy team, they played really hard and posed some problems for us,” said Red Knights coach Eric Meek. “Our defense played a whale of a game.”

The Red Knights held the Skippers to negative-2 yards rushing on 24 carries.

“Our defense put is in good position all night,” said Meek. “Overall, we did really well on special teams. Again, we played good defense and, offensively, we played well at times.

“It is great to get the win and come home 2-1.”

Senior Chez Glenn ran the ball six times for 128 yards and a 64-yard touchdown run. He also caught three balls for 41 yards.
