Brooke falls to So. Charleston

SOUTH CHARLESTON – The Brooke boys basketball team traveled over three hours for its game against South Charleston on Friday. The Black Eagles welcomed the Bruins with a 71-58 defeat.

Brooke (2-2) led 21-17 after the first quarter but South Charleston outscored the Bruins 42-24 in the second and third to run away with the win.

Russell Schwertfeger drilled three 3-pointers and finished with 16 points, while Thomas Cole also added 16.

Nick DeStefano scored 10 points and Nathan Greene had eight.

The Black Eagles improved to 2-0 and were led by 20 points from Brandon Knapper. Anthony Billings added 14 points.

Brooke hosts Indian Creek today at 7:30 p.m.
