Nameth, Ellzy lead Huskies
CADIZ – In a doubleheader sweep of Buckeye Trail, Harrison Central’s Katie Ellzy struck out 23 batters, didn’t issue a walk and only allowed four hits. Shianne Nameth led the Huskies’ offense with a combined 10 RBIs on two home runs, two doubles and a single.
Harrison won 11-0 and 9-0.
Ellzy added a home run in Game 2, while Paige Dunlap scored three times and hits a double.
In Game 1, Alexia Dowdle had a single, double and home run, while Paige Richards and Roni Caldwell each had hits and an RBI.
The Huskies are now 7-3.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE – St. Clairsville swept Steubenville in a doubleheader on Saturday. Big Red fell 5-4 and 10-5.
Hayley Stamps took the loss in Game 1, despite striking out six and allowing just five hits.
At the plate, Rhiannon Petrisko had a hit and Averee Fields drove in two runs.
Carlee Jenkins struck out three and took the loss in Game 2. Tenia Barker and Nauja Banks each collected three hits.
Big Red’s record is now 10-6.

Garaway sweeps Edison
RICHMOND – The Garaway softball team beat Edison 9-2 and 11-4 on Saturday at Jefferson Lake State Park.
In Game 1, Caitlin Brenstuhl took the loss after striking out two and walking three.
At the plate for the Wildcats, Charli McConnell had a single, double and drove in a run, while Cassady Jarvis, Ashlee Miller and Kayli Stewart each single.
Zoe Westfall took the loss in Game 2 after striking out one and not issuing a walk.
Skylar Fankhouser led the offense with four singles and an RBI, while McConnell ripped a single and double.
Lynsey Morrison added a single and Jackie Wiedaman doubled.
Edison is now 2-9 and plays at Carrolton on Monday.

Maroon Knights stop Dons
WEIRTON – Wheeling Central broke open a close game with eight runs in the top of the fifth inning and beat host Madonna, 12-2, Saturday at Starvaggi Park.
The Maroon Knights scored one in the top of the third inning after both teams scored in the first.
Emily Pietranton doubled for Madonna (8-5). Becca Holt, Brianna Fierro, Annie Magnone and Courtney Kaczmarek all singled for the Blue Dons, who visit Morgantown Trinity for a Monday noon doubleheader.

TORONTO – Toronto scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, but it wasn;t enough to come back against East Liverpool. The Potters topped the Red Knights, 10-6.
Desiree Meadows didn’t issue a walk and struck out 10 batters on the mound for Toronto. At the plate, Lexie Berger and Emily Anderson each knocked a triple.
Chelsea Anderson added a pair of doubles, while Lindsey King and Hannah Parker each singled.
