Perkins earns 200th win for Toronto

RAYLAND – Toronto baseball coach Brian Perkins earned his 200th victory on Thursday after watching his team come back from a 5-1 deficit after three innings.

The Red Knights plated two in the fourth, two in the fifth, three in the sixth and three in the seventh for an 11-9 win over stubborn Buckeye Local.

Blaze Glenn earned the win in relief of Nate Stewart and Danny Zdinak. Glenn also had a double, two singles and an RBI. Jarin McIntosh added an RBI double, Stewart a double, Solomon and Ryan Cline two singles each.

The Red Knights head to Caldwell for a 1 p.m. game Saturday in the OVAC Class 2A semifinals.

Big Reds jolt Edison

BELLAIRE – The Big Reds handed Edison its second in three games with a 12-2 decision on Thursday.

Bellaire took a 3-0 lead after one inning and broke open a 3-2 game with six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Clay Woodward took the loss. He also singled twice.

Edison visits Indian Creek today and entertains Morgantown at 11 a.m. Saturday in the OVAC Class 5A semifinals.

Bellaire invades Vaccaro Field for an 11 a.m. game with Steubenville Central in the OVAC Class 3A.

Bears win another one

NEW MANCHESTER – Oak Glen won its fourth game in a row (and six of seven) with a 7-6 victory over visiting Magnolia on Thursday at the Field of Dreams.

The Golden Bears (9-9) welcome Weir High today in a makeup game.

Bub Haddox scored the winning run on a passed ball in the bottom of the seventh. He had a single and double.

Alec Swiger singled twice for two RBIs. Alex Shuman singled three times and Michael Campbell singled and totaled two RBIs.
