Headed to Geneva

Weirton Madonna graduate Stevie Maus will continue his academic and athletic career at Geneva College, where he will be a member of the football team. Joining him at a signing ceremony were his father, Steve; sister, Megan; mother, Bethany and grandfather, Ken Aspenleiter. Maus was a threer-year letterman at Madonna and started as a middle linebacker and fullback. The Blue Dons were state runners-up his junior year and state champs his senior year. Maus also lettered for two years as a member of the track and field team. At Madonna, he was in the National Honor Society and Jets Club. Maus was also a recepient of the Weirton?Medical Academic Scholarship. He plans to major in physical therapy.

Weirton Madonna graduate Garrett Bever flanked by his parents, Tom and Jara, will continue his academic and athletic career at Geneva College, where he will be a member of the football team. Bever was a four-year starter at Madonna and started on the offensive and defensive lines his junior and senior seasons. The Blue Dons were state runners-up his junior year and state champs his senior year. Bever lettered for all four years and earned second team all-state, first team All-Mason/Dixon and first team All-OVAC. Bever graduated with distinguished honors and was a two-year member of the National Honor Society. He earned the President’s Education Award for outstanding academic achievement. Also attending the signing was Kenny Bever, Garrett’s grandfather.

Weirton Madonna graduate Shain Livada surrounded by, from left, father Steve Livada, mother Shandel Livada amd stepfather Mike Plaso, will continue his academic and athletic careers at Geneva College, where he will major in criminal justice and be a member of the football team. Livada qualified for the state wrestling tournament as a sophomore at Weir and a senior for the Blue Dons. He was an all-Mason Dixon football selection as a senior. Livada, active in his church youth group, is also a member of the national honor society, received an FOP?scholarship from the Weirton Lodge and a West Virginia P.R.O.M.I.S.E Scholarship.
