Post 33 splits DH
STUBENVILLE – Post 33 dropped its first game of the season, 6-5, to Beverley-Lowell on Saturday at Vaccaro Field. It rebounded with a 7-4 victory in the night cap.
Anthony Zorne pitched a complete game, but took the loss for Post 33. He struck out five and walked five.
Bryan Pierro led the offense with a single, double and RBI. Kai McClurg had two singles, while Zorne reached on a double. Pat Pizzoferrato and Chris Murphy each had a single and RBI.
Paul Runkel pitched and won Game 2 with two strikeouts and six walks. Post 33 put up all seven runs in the first inning and held on for the victory.
Niko Petrides had a single, double and two RBIs, while John Lynn singled in two runs. Pizzoferato and Devin Ferguson each got a hit and Dimitrios Collaros singled in a run.
Post 33 plays a doubleheader today at 1 p.m. against Zanesville.
