Brooke boys play to a tie with Park

WHEELING — The Brooke boys soccer team tied Wheeling Park, 1-1, on Wednesday. Scoring for the Bruins was Josh Ferguson on an assist from Foster Burns.

In goal for Brooke, Matthew Reed made 15 saves.

The Bruins are now 1-1-2 and play Elkins at home on Saturday,

Edison stops St. C

RICHMOND — The Edison girls soccer team earned a 3-1 victory against St. Clairsville on Wednesday. Scoring for the Wildcats were Lauren Ferralli with two goals and Chelsea Petzker with one. Melissa Tran recorded an assist.

Edison recorded 14 shots on goal in the victory.

In goal for the Wildcats, Chessa Cunningham had three saves and Abby Booth made two.

Edison is now 2-0 on the year and hosts John Marshall at home on Saturday.

Crusaders outlast Buckeye Local

RAYLAND — The Catholic Central golf team beat Buckeye Local, 182-184 at Bec Wood on Wednesday. The medalist in the match was Kevin Wells of Central, with a 39. Also for the Crusaders, Nicco Toriscelli had a 43, Luka Connor had a 46, Zach Campbell had a 54.

For Buckeye Local, Austin Anderson and George Lollathin each shot a 43. Also, Blake Ring-Fish and Emily Holzopfel each had 49.

Peterson shoots 34 for Dons

WEIRTON — Madonna’s Howie Peterson shot a 34 at Williams Country Club to lead the Blue Dons in a tri-match with Steubenville and Indian Creek. The team shot a collective 161 for the top spot. Steubenville had 180 and Indian Creek had 214.

Also for the Blue Dons, Hunter Payne had 39, Tony Sellitti had 41 and Joey Ewusiak had 47.

For Big Red, Paul Mastros had 43, Isaiah Herring had 44, Luke Krause had 49 and Keenan Sedite had 50.

For the Redskins, John Paulman had 47, Josh Speaker had 54, Nick Vella had 56 and Scott Martin had 57.

VOLLEYBALL

Southern sweeps Red Knights

SALINEVILLE — Toronto dropped a 25-22, 25-12, 25-12 decision at Southern Local Wednesday.

Delaney Merideth led the Red Knights (0-2) with 12 points. Maddie Robins added 18 assists and Gina Fogle nine points.

Toronto visits Bridgeport Tuesday.

≤ Also on Wednesday, Harrison Central beat East Liverpool in boys soccer, 4-1.
