Steubenville girls win at Oak Glen

NEW MANCHESTER — The Steubenville girls basketball team earned a 47-39 victory against Oak Glen. Leading Big Red was Rhiannon Petrisko with 24 points. Seana Ragusa added 15 points, including four 3-pointers.

For the Golden Bears, Maisie Witherow led with 19 points and Maggie Kovalcik scored eight points.

Oak Glen plays again on Wednesday at Beaver Local. Steubenville faces John Marshall at home on Tuesday as part of the Neese/Watt Tournament.

IC beats BL in OT

CALCUTTA — The Indian Creek boys basketball team surged past Beaver Local in overtime, 51-49.

Greg Wade led the Redskins with 21 points and Andy Waggoner added 11.

Indian Creek led, 15-5, after the first quarter and outscored the Beavers, 10-7, in the overtime period.

The Redskins play again on Tuesday, hosting St. Clairsville.

Big Red falls on the road

AKRON — The Steubenville boys basketball team fell to Akron Buchtel, 87-49.

Davon Smith paced Big Red with 10 points and Charles Reeves added eight. Alec Davis and James Roundree chipped in with six points each.

Steubenville is back in action on Tuesday against Farrell at 6 p.m. as part of the Neese/Watt Tournament.

JM outlasts Brooke

WELLSBURG — John Marshall held off Brooke, 63-53.

For the Bruins, Evan Cuomo led with 22 points. Chris Yachini and Justin Shelton each scored nine points.

CADIZ — The Harrison Central boys basketball team beat Buckeye 8 rival St. Clairsville, 68-50. Leading the Huskies was Jacob Barr who scored 21 points and knocked down five 3-pointers. Also for the Huskies, Tyler Redish added 13 points, while Caden Arbaugh and Caden Dalton each scored 12.

Harrison Central is back in action on Tuesday, hosting Bellaire.
