Madonna drops home tilt against Bishop Donahue

WEIRTON — The Madonna baseball team dropped its second game of the season, falling by a score of 16-2 against Bishop Donahue at Bowman Field.

The Blue Dons play again on Thursday at Wheeling Central.

Weir beats BD

MCMECHEN — The Weir softball team earned its first victory of the season with a 13-2 win at Bishop Donahue.

Samantha Kaczmarek earned the win on the mound with three strikeouts. At the plate, Allison Phillips belted a home run and added a single to finish with two RBIs. Maddie Dilullo had three singles and two RBIs, while Abrianna Fuscardo collected three singles.

The Red Riders are back in action today against Wheeling Park at the I-470 Complex. First pitch is 5:30 p.m.

OG holds off Park

WHEELING — The Oak Glen softball team beat Wheeling Park, 6-3, in eight innings.

The Golden Bears were led by a 10-strikeout performance from Hannah Clunk. Clunk delivered at the plate with a home run and two RBIs. Taylor McKay also had a home run and two RBI.

Oak Glen plays again on Thursday, hosting University.

OG boys fall to Park

CHESTER — The Wheeling Park boys tennis team beat Oak Glen, 6-1, at Mountaineer Resort.

The doubles team of Connor Blake and Parker Provenzano beat Ben Ridgewell and Jett Thomas, 8-3.

Devon Flanigan, Tyler Ridgway, Brogan Morgan and Blake competed in singles. Flanigan and Moran, along with Ridgway and Josh Lantz were the other doubles teams for Oak Glen.

OG girls fall to Park

CHESTER — The Wheeling Park girls tennis team beat Oak Glen, 4-3, at Mountaineer Resort.

Brooke Provenzano beat Matilda Weeks, 8-6, to earn a singles win for Oak Glen. The Golden Bears doubles teams of Katie Szymanski and Molly Swartzmiller, along with Provenzano and Ally Brothers also picked up victories.

The doubles team of Cristal Tetrault and Abby Chavez also competed in the match, along with singles players Szymanski, Swartzmiller and Brothers.
