Tonacchio — Mahoney

WEIRTON – Alexis Noel Tonacchio and Joseph John Mahoney were united in marriage on June 14 during a 3 p.m. ceremony at Holy Name Church in Christ the Light of the World Parish in Duquense, Pa. The Rev. Dennis Colamarino officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Domenick and Muriel Tonacchio of Weirton. The groom is the son of Charles and Deborah Mahoney of Burgettstown.

The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a strapless sweetheart neckline gown with Swarovski crystals, lace appliques, a drop waist and a ballgown skirt with train. She carried green fashion roses and hot pink hydrangeas with rhinestone accents.

Amber Tonacchio of Oakdale, Pa., sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Erin Tonacchio of Pittsburgh, sister of the bride; Emily Tonacchio of Oakdale, sister of the bride; Nicole Corwell of Oakdale, cousin of the bride; Briana Rasicci of Imperial, Pa.; Maegan Hatala of Oakdale; and Marissa Kotouch of Jupiter, Fla.

Peter Rivetti of Moon, Pa., served as best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Barletta of Coraopolis, Pa.; Ryan Mahoney of McDonald, Pa, cousin of the groom; Frank Flora of Weirton, cousin of the bride; David Ericson of Alexandria, Va.; Mike Blasinsky of Carmichaels, Pa.; Ronnie Kotouch of Jupiter; and Matthew Steele of Dubois, Pa.

Sophia Kostraba of North Olmested, cousin of the bride, and Kennedy Mahoney of McDonald, cousin of the groom, were the flower girls. Liam Kotouch of Jupiter and Joey Stephenson of St. Petersburg, Fla., were the ring bearers.

A reception was held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Coraopolis. Following the reception, the couple honeymooned at Sandals Grande Resort in Antigua.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of Weir High School, a 2008 graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor of science degree in speech pathology and audiology, and in 2012, she earned a master of science degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville with an emphasis in early childhood education and reading. She is a third-grade teacher at East Garfield Elementary School in Steubenville.

The groom also is a 2004 graduate of Weir High School and a 2008 graduate of Duquesne University with a bachelor of arts degree in English and psychology. In 2010, he earned a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh. He is the supervisor of mental health programs for Intermediate Unit 1 in Washington, Fayette, and Greene counties in Pa.

They live in Pittsburgh.
