Russell — Wilson
IRONDALE – Laura Ashley Russell and Benjamin Allen Wilson were united in marriage on July 26, 2014, at the United Methodist Church of the Cross in East Springfield where the Rev. Tom Snodgrass officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Brenda Russell of Irondale and Mark and Elizabeth Russell of Amsterdam.
She wore a strapless, scooped neckline A-line silhouette lace dress that featured three-dimensional crystal beaded flowers, pearls and a chapel-length train.
The groom is the son of Dona and Joe Cavanaugh of Richmond and the late Larry Wilson.
The maid of honor was Abby Russell, sister of the bride, and Mindie Riley served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Chelsie Tessler, cousin of the bride; Lauren Barker, sister of the groom; Shana Bokunevitz; Emily Cavanaugh, sister of the groom; and Leah Cavanaugh, sister of the groom.
Haleigh Quin, niece of the bride, served as flower girl.
Groomsmen included Shane Hanlin, Matthew Fomenko, Jay Riley, Mike Kelly and Bryan Platoko.
The ring bearers were Evan and Aidan Barker, nephews of the groom.
Following the wedding, a reception was held at the Countryside in East Springfield.
The bride graduated from Edison High School in 2003 and from Trinity Health System’s School of Nursing in 2005 as a registered nurse. She is employed at the Jefferson County Health Department as the WIC director.
The groom graduated from Edison High School in 2000. He is employed at Diamond Specialized in Richmond.
