Appreciation

The Jefferson County Veterans Association presented a plaque to Tim Hortons at 4234 Sunset Blvd. in Steubenville for five years of contributions of coffee and donuts that have assisted in maintaining efforts to provide military appreciation programs for the community. Taking part in the presentation were, from left, from the veterans association Tony Phillippi, treasurer; Barry Bardone, adjutant; and Frank Santa, commander; and from Tim Hortons, Andy Cooney, owner; David Driscoll, general manager; and Holly Eakle, store manager. “It is encouraging to know that patriots such as Tim’s employees are ready to assist us to create and maintain this organization’s intent to educate the public regarding the service, dedication and sacrifice of America’s active and veteran military, who unselfishly serve to protect our great nation. Such cooperation strengthens bonds among veterans and communities. Their generous contributions help make our Memorial Day and Veterans Day and veterans picnic programs a success. We are grateful for their participation,” the association said.
