APPOINTED: Alan Hall of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has been appointed to the State Library Board.

He will serve the remaining term of board member Krista Taracuk, who resigned to relocate. Hall will serve March 21 through Dec. 31, 2022.

“I am humbled to be chosen and excited to represent libraries in general,” said Hall.

The State Library Board consists of five members, each appointed for a five-year term, by the State Board of Education. The board typically meets six times a year beginning January. The library board is responsible for the State Library of Ohio in Columbus and a statewide program of development and coordination of library services. It serves state government, all types of libraries, and residents.

Hall has worked in the library profession for 49 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University and holds a master of library science from Case Western Reserve University. He worked at Washington County Public Library in Marietta from 1970-1975; I.F. Freiberger Library in Cleveland, from 1976-1977; served as director at the Delphos Public Library from 1977-1983; and the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County from 1983 until his retirement becomes official in March.

APPOINTED: Deborah Rodriguez of Cedar One Realty has been appoined to serve on the East Central Association of Realtors.

ECAR promotes programs and resources that enable Realtors to ethically serve their communities while preserving real property rights.

She joined Cedar One family in 2017. She began her real estate career eight years ago after and achieved OAR President’s Club and Multi-Million Dollar Producer status.

In 2018, she reached $6,490,400 in total volume. She listed 27 homes and sold 22.5, making her one of the top agents in Jefferson County.

PROMOTED: Gabe Ofca has been promoted to production manager at EM-Media.

A life-long resident of Steubenville, Ofca has an associates degree from Pittsburgh Technical College. He has been a member of the EM-Media team for nearly four years, working as a video producer.

“I’m like the swiss army knife of production,” said Ofca, whose efforts have contributed to many of EM-Media’s production awards. His work includes drone shots in videos ranging from the “Steubenville Love Where You Live” campaign to Eastern Gateway Community College to Grand Vue Park.
