New boutique centers around farmhouse decor
FOLLANSBEE — For fans of the television series “Fixer Upper,” a newly opened business in Follansbee might catch your eye.
Two Sisters Apothecary & Boutique, located at 929 Main St., held its grand opening Thursday. Co-owners and sisters Melissa Cosgrove and Betty Ledyard, both of Steubenville, said the boutique centers around farmhouse decor.
“We attribute our passion in farmhouse from Chip and Joanna Gaines on HGTV,” joked Ledyard.
Two Sisters Apothecary & Boutique also sells essential oils, candles, artisan soaps and more, in addition to offering free coffee and baked goods.
Cosgrove and Ledyard said as soon as they visited the space, like with Goldilocks and the three bears, they knew it was perfect.
“It wasn’t too big, not too small, said Ledyard. “It was just what we were looking for.”
The co-owners of the boutique began working on their new property at the end of March.
“It seemed like a lifetime to my husband,” said Cosgrove.
“It was actually really quick, though,” added Ledyard. “Only eight weeks to get it ready to open.”
Follansbee Chamber of Commerce President Debbie Puskarich said she was happy to have Two Sisters Apothecary & Boutique in town.
“It’s always really exciting to have a new business, especially when it’s a little different from what we already have here,” said Puskarich.
Two Sisters Apothecary & Boutique is holding a drawing for a Fourth of July gift basket. Tickets are $1 each or $5 for six tickets. The winner will be announced June 15.
Boutique hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday though Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
