Steubenville Police

Stick to water: A woman who was causing a disturbance in a local bar punched and scratched her sister on the way home, Tuesday. Police got involved when callers reported a woman had been thrown out of the car at the bottom of the John Scott Connector,. When they arrived on scene, they said the woman was laying on the ground and “appeared highly intoxicated and kept screaming” at her sister, who she wanted to fight. Police noted injuries to the sister’s arm and ear, and said she told them when her sister began pummeling her she pulled over and told her to get out of the car. The drunken female was taken to Trinity Medical Center West, where an hour later police had to respond after the staff reported the same female was “intoxicated and belligerent,” causing a disturbance

Disturbing: A prowler was reported in the 700 block of Brady Avenue, Tuesday. The homeowner said she heard something hit a dining room window followed by footsteps on her porch. When she looked out the window, she told police she said a figure running away.

Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to the owners of properties at 1096 Claire Ave., litter; 1408 State St., grass and litter; 1116 Hillary Square, grass; 804 Oakmont, grass, old vehicles and litter; 536 Lawson Ave., weeds and litter; 1105 Park St., weeds.

Arrested: Jessica Bonar-Layman, 42, 112 Broundous Ave., Steubenville, two counts of failure to appear and failure to appear, Wednesday.

Arrested: Theresa Morris, 60, Virginia Avenue, Follansbee, warrant, Tuesday.

Arrested: William Vandyke, 26, 125 Ravine St., Mingo Junction, possession of drugs and tampering with evidence, plus warrants for criminal mischief and failure to appear, Tuesday. Police allege Vandyke traveled the wrong way in a one-way section of South Third Street, and had a glass crack pipe and white substance believed to be cocaine base.

Cited: Sabrina L. Isaac, 37, 841 Jeannette Ave., speeding; Terry Richardson II, 40, 211 Wilshire Blvd., driving under suspension; Daniel M. Groseclose, 29, 239 Locust Lane, Follansbee, speeding.

Friends indeed: A woman who was visiting with friends in the 400 block of North Street said she didn’t know a female she’s had ongoing issues with was going to show up, Wednesday. She told police they argued, and at one point the other woman grabbed a knife and talked about stabbing her with it but pulled out mace instead and sprayed it in her face. Police said the woman had swelling around her eyes and nose.

Wake up call: A woman in the 1300 block of Oak Grove Avenue said the father of her children let himself into her home without permission, Wednesday. She said they argued and he threw her across the bed.

Missing vehicle: A Wellsburg man who said he let a man borrow his car to run some errands told police he’s still waiting for it to be returned, Wednesday. The owner of the vehicle said he’d had a few beers and didn’t want to take the man himself.

Dispute: Two men each each accused the other of assault the Fort Steuben Apartments, Wednesday.

Removed: A vehicle parked in the 700 block of Lawson that hadn’t moved since Aug. 30 was towed Wednesday. The owner was ticketed for parking in a restricted area.

Lost: A wallet left at the post office about a week ago was turned over to the police department, Wednesday.

Arrested: Vendela Pirozak, 27, 67580 Airport Road, St. Clairsville, failure to appear (Belmont County), Wednesday.

Cited: Ralph Manna, 54, Apartment 312, 125 Ravine St., Mingo Junction, open container.

Arrested: John Nation, 24, 3035 West St., Weirton, failure to appear, Wednesday.

Arrested: Cody Bellum, 24, 309 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, aggravated menacing and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, Thursday.

Arrested: Ralph Manna, 54, 112 Aetna St., Mingo Junction, misusing 911, Thursday.

Jefferson County probation

Arrested: Zachary Long, 32, 12984 state Route 152, Toronto, probation violation.

Arrested: William E. Board, 42, Toronto, public intoxication, criminal damaging and resisting arrest, Aug. 27.
