Toronto police

Charged: Luis Avellano-Flores, 44, 1499 Ravine St., unauthorized use of a vehicle and fugitive from justice, Jan. 14.

Arrested: Steven Sousa, 55, Henry Street, Toronto, charged Wednesday with operating a vehicle under the influence, reckless operation and driving left of center.

Cited: Randall P. Wolfe, 42, Toronto, driving while suspended and expired plates; Kirk. H. Critser, 61, 808 Banfield Ave., improper backing; and Terry D. Carey, 59, Eighty-four, Pa., one-way street violation.

Steubenville police

Arrested: James A. Roe, 38, 1434 Belleview Blvd., Steubenville, charged with petit theft Tuesday after he allegedly tried to leave Walmart with a shopping cart full of merchandise that he hadn’t paid for. Walmart employees said the merchandise in the car was valued at more than $830.

Arrested: Quintin A, Constantini, 33, 815 N Sixth St., Apt. 515, taken into custody Tuesday on a warrant stemming from an alleged assault in June 2020; Otis Allen, 43, no fixed address, charged with criminal trespass after he returned to a Sunset Boulevard business after being advised several times to stay away from the property; Mykalia Hale, 19, 1415 Wellesley Ave., Steubenville, charged with falsification and served with a warrant for failure to appear Tuesday after she allegedly gave police a fictitious name during a traffic stop. Police said Hale later admitted she knew there was a warrant for her arrest.

Cited: Terald Jajuan Herring, 44, 1325 Maryland Ave., Steubenville, public intoxication.

Cited: Joseph A. Anderson, 50, 3088 Wilson Ave., Mingo Junction, assured clear distance ahead after a collision at Sunset Boulevard and Hollywood Avenue. Police said the privately owned ambulance Anderson was driving suffered heavy front-end damage, while the other vehicle had only several large dents.

Cited: Ira White, 41, 505 Leon Sullivan Way, Charleston, defective unsafe vehicle (badly cracked windshield) and possession of marijuana. White’s passenger, Meika Lyndsey Boyer, 35, 207 Bennett St., Bridgeport, was taken into custody on a warrant out of Columbiana County. She was transported to the county line and turned over to Columbiana County sheriff’s deputies.

Friend or foe: An individual who allowed a friend to use his phone recently told police Wednesday he found out afterward the man lifted his banking information and password while he had it. The victim said the friend authorized roughly 20 transactions to a cash app or other account in his name, and he didn’t find out until the following day when the transactions posted to his account. The victim said he was missing $525 from his account.

Argument: Siblings living in the 700 block of North Fifth Street got into an argument about cleaning the shower Wednesday. Police said the female told them her brother lost his temper and poked her in the head, but her brother claimed she’d kicked him after he cleaned it.

Crash dummy: Police located a vehicle with heavy front end damage in the middle of the street in the 300 block of Belleview, but no driver was in sight. Two men who happened upon the disabled vehicle said they didn’t see the accident, but they did notice a woman putting a piece of the bumper into a nearby trash can and then jumping into a grey SUV, fleeing westbound on Euclid Avenue. A resident reported seeing a grey pickup stopped at the bend leave the area, heading west on Euclid. Given the condition of the vehicle, the responding officer said the crash likely occurred at the intersection, but couldn’t locate anything that could have caused the damage.
