Jefferson County sheriff

Stolen: A man was spotted removing items from a residence on state Route 646, Richmond, Thursday. The homeowner said the individual, who she believes to be her ex-boyfriend, removed a window air conditioner to gain entry to the residence, removing a television, weed trimmer, shovels, propane grill, a butcher-block style countertop from a kitchen island, a PlayStation 4 Call of Duty edition and several games, a jewelry box containing rings and other items, including diamond earrings.

A .38 caliber revolver registered to the homeowner and two dogs also were stolen, deputies said.

Trouble on social media: Deputies were notified of teenage girls trading vulgar insults and threatening each other on Snapchat, Tuesday.

Deputies said two 15-year-old girls were at the heart of the problem, which was enflamed once their friends got involved. Both deny asking their friends to threaten and harass the other, but deputies said a 16-year-old allegedly threatened to shoot one of the younger girls.

Broken: An employee at Brier Wood Apartments discovered her rear windshield had been broken while she was at work, Thursday.

Theft: A contractor doing work in Warren township near Buckeye Local High School reported several items stolen, including miscellaneous metal parts, signposts and an air compressor from a piece of equipment. The missing items were valued at around $1,500.

Steubenville police

Shattered: A Pennsylvania Avenue resident told police a juvenile threw a rock at her kitchen window, cracking it, Wednesday.

Stolen: Police were told $240 was removed from an apartment in the 100 block of North Fourth Street, Thursday.

Vandalized: Someone moved a vehicle parked at Franciscan University of Steubenville while it was still in park, Thursday. Police said they could see where the tires had scraped the pavement because it wasn’t in gear and said whoever vandalized the vehicle had used window paint to write on the glass. The owner also reported two prior flat tires.
