Sarita Asawa

NEW JOB: Sarita Asawa has been named programming and community outreach coordinator at the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County. This is a new position at the library that will create a Friends of the Library group and more interactive programming for school-age children and adults.

She also will work with senior and area organizations to network, develop and participate in community-based events throughout Jefferson County.

“I’m exceptionally excited and honored to step into this new position. Community outreach and innovative programming allow the library to push beyond its doors and truly become a vibrant community hub for the areas it serves. The library already is such a positive force within Jefferson County, but I look forward to new growth and expansion in the future,” Asawa said.

AWARDED: Howard Hanna Real Estate Services has recognized Lisa Hensley and Missy Mikula, sales affiliates with Howard Hanna Mortimer Realty in Weirton, with multiple awards for outstanding performance.

Hensley received the Top Producer Award, Triple Crown Champions Club, National Sales Excellence, Best of the Best Award and Multi-million dollar producer awards. She is a member of the President’s Circle, a title awarded to sales associates who have been with Howard Hanna for at least 15 years and have in excess of $65 million in sales.

Mikula achieved the National Sales Excellence Award, Champions Club and Multi-million dollar producer recognition. She has been a sales associate with Howard Hanna Mortimer Realty for four years and servces as president of the Weirton Board of Realtors.

TOPPING CHARTS: Former Mingo Junction resident Rose Angelica is making music headlines in Nashville. This past week she has two No. 1 songs on two different Nashville charts.

“Welcome to My World,” is a remake of the country hit song with Elvis Presley Jr. that hit No. 1 on May 8 on the Nashville Indie Top 40 chart. “Mama’s Song” is a song Angelica wrote about her mother and it hit No. 1 on May 9, Mother’s Day, on the Airplay Express Country Charts.

Angelica will be performing on June 11 at the Texas Troubadour Theater in Nashville, and plans to do a few shows in the Ohio Valley this summer.
