Jefferson County Sheriff

Two-for-one: A Bellesville, Ohio, woman told deputies her husband has married another woman and is living with her in Bergholz while he’s still legally married to her, Wednesday. She said his other wife claimed they’d “looked into our marriage record and couldn’t find anything,” but when she checked with officials in Crawford County they confirmed her marriage license was properly filed. She said on his marriage license application here in Jefferson County, clerks told her he’d replied “no” to the question asking if he’d been married before.

Stolen: A portable generator was reported stolen from a property in Dillonvale, Wednesday. The generator was kept in her garage, which is attached to the house and said she has no idea who might have taken it. She told deputies she last saw it a week ago. The generator, a 7500-amp Craftsman, is valued at $400.

Steubenville Police

Citation: Police said an intoxicated, partially-clothed city resident caused a disturbance, screaming offensive comments to her neighbors “and generally yelling at everyone,” Tuesday. Officers said they shepherded her inside her apartment several times, and warned her being “intoxicated, wearing only a T-shirt, using foul language and (directing) slurs” at her neighbors could be construed as disorderly behavior. She was told to stay in her apartment, but police allege she emerged and began directing slurs and foul language at them as well as the neighbors, including children. She was issued a misdemeanor citation for her behavior/misconduct, and when she exited her apartment yet again, she was booked into the county jail. Patricia Spanovich, 62, 4439 Lovers Lane, was charged with disorderly conduct.

Big hit: An Adams Street resident told police a man known to her “grabbed a board and struck her several times,” Wednesday. Police said the woman’s left eye was extremely swollen and she had a huge bruise on the back of her left arm, but she didn’t want to pursue charges. She did ask for a protection order.

Responded: Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Ridge Avenue after callers reported a possible overdose, Wednesday. They said firefighters administered Narcan to the female in distress and transported her to Trinity West for treatment. Police said cocaine/fentanyl was found at the scene, so Giorne Manson, 36, 1243 Ridge Ave., Steubenville, was charged with possession of drugs.

Pointless: An Oregon Avenue resident said while he was on his front porch, someone slashed one of his tires while his vehicle was parked behind his residence, Wednesday. He said he heard a loud hissing noise, and when he investigated, discovered the damage.

Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to owners/occupants of properties at 1434 Oregon Ave., 1641 Ridge Ave., 432 Maxwell Ave., 815 Broadway Blvd., 4016 Valley View, 701 Lovers Lane, 1307 Cardinal St., 1207 Cardinal St., 736 Rosswell Ave., for high grass/weeds.
