Career opportunities
Austin Simmons, a 2014 graduate of the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School and a corrections officer at the Belmont Correctional Center in St. Clairsville, visitand spoke to students in the criminal justice program about career opportunities. Simmons said employees held an array of jobs from officers to administrative staff and received good pay and benefits, plus there were chances for advancement. An added plus was that union members can receive a free education.
