Dee Jay’s to aid local food banks in Lenten season
WEIRTON — Dee Jay’s BBQ Ribs and Grille, has announced its contribution to local food banks during the Lenten season. The restaurant chain is donating $1 from every Lenten offering to three local food banks:
• Dee Jay’s BBQ (Weirton): The Community Bread Basket Food Distribution Center
• Dee Jay’s BBQ (Collier): The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank
• Dee Jay’s BBQ (Racetrack): The Greater Washington County Food Bank
“We are proud to support our local food banks during the Lenten season,” said Jamie Irvine, spokesperson for Dee Jay’s. “By donating $1 from each Lenten dish, we believe everyone deserves access to nutritious food. We are thrilled to partner with these food banks and make a positive impact on the lives of those who are struggling with food insecurity.”
According to Irvine, the Lenten season is a time for reflection, spiritual renewal and acts of charity. Dee Jays is honored to serve the community in this way and help provide support to those in need. The restaurant’s commitment to its customers and the community extends beyond its delicious food and warm hospitality. Dee Jay’s believes in giving back to the community, and its contribution to the three local food banks is a testament to this belief.
• The Greater Washington County Food Bank in Brownsville, Pa., serves more than 5,000 people each month, and the donation from Dee Jay’s will go a long way in helping the food bank provide nutritious meals to those in need.
• The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank in Duquesne, Pa., is one of the largest food banks in Western Pennsylvania, serving more than 100,000 people each month.
• The Community Bread Basket Food Distribution Center in Weirton is a nonprofit organization which provides food assistance to families and individuals in West Virginia.
Dee Jay’s has been serving the community for years. With a commitment to quality food and exceptional customer service, Dee Jay’s has become a local favorite. By supporting these three food banks, Dee Jay’s is showing they are more than just a restaurant — they are a community partner.
Dee Jay’s Lenten offerings feature a selection of seafood dishes. The Collier and Racetrack locations will serve the same dishes, including BBQ shrimp, shrimp salad, salmon salad, fish sandwich, Atlantic salmon and pan-fried cod. These mouth-watering options are perfect for anyone looking for a delicious Lenten meal. Meanwhile, the Weirton location will offer its unique Lenten menu, including fresh zucchini, salmon salad, Atlantic salmon, shrimp Caesar salad, fish sandwich and pan-fried cod. For each of these menu items sold, the management will donate $1 to the corresponding food bank.
Dee Jay’s has been serving its famous slow-cooked ribs since 1980, earning a reputation that extends far beyond West Virginia. Located just off U.S. Route 22 at 340 Three Springs Drive in Weirton, the 210-seat restaurant is a tropical destination complete with ample parking.
While the ribs may be the star of the show, Dee Jay’s menu offers plenty of other dishes that have become almost as famous.
