Steubenville Police
Pole struck: A driver was cited after a one-vehicle accident on Washington Street Hill near the Market Street exit, Sunday. Police said L’Tecia M. Robinson, 32, 1139 Wellesley Ave., Steubenville, told them she was eastbound on Washington Street when she slid off the road while attempting to navigate a curve in the road, striking a light pole and guardrail before coming to rest. Robinson was cited for failure to control, police said. Robinson and three juveniles in the vehicle declined treatment.
Cited: Someone told police a male appeared to be unconscious in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the 200 block of North Seventh Street, Sunday. Police said the driver, identified as Jacob T. Nale, 30, 638 Arden Ave, Steubenville, was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments after a used hypodermic was allegedly located on the center console. They reported Nale’s vehicle was still running and his foot was on the accelerator when they arrived but said he stirred when they opened the car door and followed their instructions to turn the vehicle off, though they also noted he was “unsteady on his feet and … speaking very slowly” and “nearly lost his balance.”
Items missing: A Logan Avenue resident reported the theft of a leather jacket, a yellow toboggan and his car keys, Sunday. He said the items were last seen Friday in his entryway and the keys were in his coat pocket.
Lapse: A caller said he left his shotgun at the marina, Sunday. Police located it by the boat ramp and secured it at the police station.
Property cleared: A Weirton resident said a neighbor reported individuals “possibly squatting” on her Logan Street property, Sunday. Police said the front door was closed but not locked, but no one was inside. The property was secured.
Fight: Two men were seen fighting on North Seventh Street near Franklin Avenue, Sunday. Once at the scene police said they were able to gather information for a report. No further information was available.
Distress call: Someone reported hearing an individual in the alleyway between the 1500 block of Ridge and Euclid avenues yelling for help, Sunday. Police checked the area and didn’t find anyone in distress.

Holiday spirits: A county resident said her live-in boyfriend threw her to the ground and she thought her shoulder had been broken, Saturday. The victim said she was “trying to keep he alcohol out of her house” when the male slammed her to the ground and called her vulgar names. She said they’d had drinks with a friend at a local bar. The friend said they’d returned to the couple’s residence to have a “Christmas gift exchange” when the boyfriend got upset over her “not cooking them something to eat.” He said the couple was arguing when the male “all of a sudden … pushed (her) to the ground.”
Money maker: A Tiltonsville man told deputies he needed to report a theft, Saturday. The caller said his ex-girlfriend “lied to him about having a child that was his to get him to send her money,” but said the child “does not exist.”
Circling back: Two women at a residence on county Road 26, Steubenville, reported a female put a note on their front door “and was now just sitting in a vehicle in (her) driveway,” Friday. One of the women identified the uninvited visitor as her husband’s ex-girlfriend and that she wanted him to “give her a call.” They said they never opened the door to confront her and didn’t have a description of the vehicle the note-writer was driving.
Concerned: Family members of a man who agreed to go to the hospital after being seen by paramedics told deputies they believe he’s using drugs again and may have overdosed, Sunday. Deputies said they followed the ambulance to the hospital because the man “has a history of jumping out of ambulances.”
Recovered: A tractor reported stolen from a Wellsville residence was recovered on Goose Run Road (township Road 304), Toronto, Saturday. The owner said he was out looking for the missing Kubota when he spotted it over a hill and had called a tow truck to retrieve it. He asked deputies to stand by in case the property owner took exception to their presence.
Reoccurring issues: A Bergholz woman said a man was “banging on her…door and refusing to leave” but he hadn’t threatened her, Friday. Deputies said the male claims she stole his house keys but the woman denied it. The two, once friends, had a falling out recently over missing money and weed. They live in separate campers on the same property so deputies advised them each to go their separate ways.

Cited: John E. Gentile, 1905 Oregon Ave., Steubenville, following too closely and no seatbelt; Andrew Gingerich, Morristown, Ohio, driving under suspension.
