Police reports
Steubenville Police
In crisis: Someone called the Veterans Hotline to report he “was in his vehicle and at a park and (was) very cold” but didn’t give a location or return phone calls, Wednesday. Police scoured “every area (in the city) that could be construed as a park” but were unable to locate him.
Drugs: A caller reported she thought someone overdosed in a vehicle, Wednesday. She was frantic and thought the guy in the backseat had overdosed, but police said he was “breathing, though not really coherent as to what was happening around him.” He was given two doses of Narcan and taken to the hospital for treatment. Another backseat passenger said the man “had only smoked a blunt and had not taken any dugs because ‘he don’t do that’.” He was convinced the man “was experiencing hypothermia and not a drug overdose.” The female said she’d seen him “laying on the ground near Market Square (and) she stopped and picked him up because (the other passenger) said he knew him,” but once he was in her vehicle he “started acting weird and she thought he was overdosing.” She said she was trying to get him to the hospital herself when she ran out of gas.
Cold: Police were asked to check on a man in the 900 block of N. 7th Street, Wednesday. He told them he was “homeless and needed shelter due to the extreme cold.” Police gave him a ride to the City Rescue Mission.
Cause and effect: A caller reported a woman had broken a window in the 600 block of N. 5th Street, Tuesday. She told police she “thought she saw someone through the back foyer window so she broke it.”
Inconsiderate: A Crabbe Boulevard resident complained that a neighbor “frequently has a guest over and takes up all the parking spaces at the complex,” Tuesday. A truck, said to belong to the guest, had “all flat tires and (was) covered in snow, indicating it had been there for an extended time.”
Package pirated: A Highland Avenue resident said a package delivered to her home was missing, Tuesday. She said it contained about $25 in paper products.
Fraud: A city resident told police someone transferred $150 from her bank account into their Paypal account and had tried to transfer another $50 but her bank stopped the transaction, Tuesday. She said she left her card out while she was in the hospital not long ago and thinks someone she knows may have accessed her information while she was away. She told police she wants to pursue charges.
Theft: A woman said someone entered a Lawson Avenue property and stole a television, countertop appliances and some jewelry, Tuesday.
Code issues: Notice of violation was sent to the owner/occupants of a property at 113 Opal Blvd., several cat litter boxes and junk piled on front porch and in driveway.

Angry ex: A Wintersville man breaking up with his girlfriend said she took his car without permission and was refusing to give it back, Monday. He said she was sending him messages threatening to destroy his vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle in Mingo Junction and arranged a tow. The woman wouldn’t answer the door “likely due to a warrant for her arrest for theft,” deputies said.
