Inky plot: A Tiltonsville resident reported he logged into his Hewlett Packard instant ink account to pay his subscription “and discovered that (it) had been deleted,” Wednesday. He said HP is aware of the problem “but no corrective actions have been taken” thus far and he is “afraid because he believes someone is planning on killing him and by deleting his account they may be attempting to erase his existence.”

Hard reset: Another Tiltonsville man told deputies he’d had his phone reset by his carrier and now he can’t use it, Wednesday. He said his PIN and passwords aren’t working so he can’t access his email or social media with it, though he is able to get into them through his computer.

Time’s up: A Yorkville man was told he must be in Tiltonsville county court Dec. 17 to explain why he hasn’t cleaned up his property as he’d been told to do, Wednesday. Deputies said he’d been warned “multiple times through the past few months” to get rid of the debris and clutter, and while he did clean up his front porch “there is still garbage laying in the front yard.” Deputies said there were “multiple bins and trashed stacked on top of each other” in his backyard as well.

Steubenville Police

Over-caffeinated: A Stratford Boulevard resident who was upset that her husband “hid the coffee from her” used her medical alarm to get police to come to their home, Wednesday. When they arrived police said she also complained that he’d “knocked a hole in the kitchen ceiling” and considered it a crime. Her husband said he was trying to fix a leak in the upstairs bathroom that had water-logged the ceiling and caused it to swell before more damage was done. He also told police his wife “drinks between six and 10 pots of coffee daily,” and in order to reduce her “excessive consumption” he took it from her. Police said it was evident no crime had been committed and advised the woman “she needs to stop abusing her medical alarm for incidents not requiring police or medical services.” He was advised to “start thinking about setting up his wife with more appropriate living accommodations due to her declining” health.

Jittery residents: A caller reported hearing three shots fired in the vicinity of McKinley Avenue, Wednesday. Police said they “did not see or hear any evidence of shots being fired,” but were advised by sheriff’s deputies that “hunters were seen going into the woods earlier (in the morning) in that area.”

Hot pants: Employees at Kroger said a male fled the store “with several bottles of wine in his pants,” Wednesday. They weren’t sure which direction he went in when he left the property, so police checked the surrounding area and didn’t locate him.

Tag teaming: Employees at Wal-Mart reported seeing two women skip-scanning more than $160 in food, clothing and makeup, Wednesday. Police said Angela Wickersham, 62, and her daughter, Shauana McClurg, 43, both of 3420 state Route 213, were each charged with theft after they allegedly tried to leave the store without paying for the merchandise.

Light-fingered: Police were told someone entered a property in the 1300 block of Wellesley Avenue and stole a 20-volt DeWalt drill set valued around around $700, Wednesday. The drill belonged to Rent-a-Center.

Served: James R. Threet, 42, 905 North 8th St., Steubenville, bench warrant, Wednesday.
