Health Plan recognized by W.Va. chamber

WHEELING — The Health Plan received the Five-Diamond Employer award from the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce on April 10 at its annual human resources conference in Charleston.

This is the second year in a row the Health Plan has received this recognition for its commitment to employee development, community service and employee empowerment.

“To earn this award for a second year in a row energizes us to continue offering exceptional benefits, programs and services to our employees,” said Carla Bell, senior vice president of human resources. “A big focus for our company in 2018 was to ramp up our wellness programming. We will always strive to be a health-centered organization, but we are also looking at other programs to implement that create an attractive, dynamic, and well-rounded work environment to meet the needs of all of our employees.”

Out of all of the companies affiliated with the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, 11 were chosen as Five-Diamond Employers. An area of emphasis in the Health Plan’s nomination bid was its robust wellness program. From company-wide wellness challenges, free fitness classes, and an employee bike share, THP seeks to set an example for what other companies across the state can do to keep employees happy, engaged and healthy.

While its headquarters is in Wheeling, the Health Plan has offices in Charleston, Morgantown and Massillon. With more than 540 employees, the Health Plan provides service to its members in West Virginia, Ohio and across the country.
