Woman-owned Markosky Group locates to Jefferson County

STEUBENVILLE — The Markosky Engineering Group Inc. now occupies office space in the Tower Building, 500 Market St., according to the Jefferson County commissioners and Cedar One Realty.

“I’m excited to see that the Markosky Group has decided to locate in our county. With many options available to them in the oil and gas regions throughout Ohio, their decision to become tenants in our Towers building shows that they recognize an opportunity to grow and be successful in Jefferson County. Also, the move into the Towers building compliments our concept of a commercial building with a combination of public and private offices. I wish them the best of luck in their new home,” said Commissioner Dave Maple.

Markosky is a woman-owned business enterprise that provides environmental consulting, construction management/inspection, bridge inspection and civil engineering services to public and private sector clients.

“We are excited to open our new office in Steubenville and looking forward to expanding our work in Ohio,” said Joyce Markosky, president of the Ligonier, Pa.-based company.

Currently, the firm’s local projects are predominately oil-and-gas related and heavy on environmental and civil design. However, it plans to pursue a wide array of engineering and environmental projects in Ohio, West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania from their new Steubenville location.

“It gives us great pleasure to bring a quality business into town. Welcoming one company at a time will make Jefferson County a more prosperous and better place to live,” explained broker Joe Luckino, who added Realtor Shannon Irvin was instrumental in bringing the company to the area.
