Financial literacy

Hancock County Savings Bank kicked off its new children’s financial literacy curriculum in November at New Manchester Elementary School. The one-hour monthly sessions for fourth-graders will continue throughout the school year and are taught by Lonna Flowers, assistant branch manager for Hancock County Savings Bank’s Weirton and New Cumberland locations. Research shows that students who have access to high-quality financial education have better financial outcomes as adults, incurring less debt and living a higher quality of life.
