Students achieve HVAC certification

Seniors in the auto service technology program at Jefferson County Joint Vocational School completed training in automotive heating ventilation and air conditioning, plus they tested to achieve their HVAC 609 license that allows them to purchase refrigerants in large quantities and repair air conditioning systems from stationary and mobile sources. In addition, pupils finished testing for the Automotive Service Excellence HVAC certification, which indicates their mastery of concepts within heating and air conditioning service and repair. The certifications are important industry credentials for those pursuing careers in the automotive industry. Among those participating in the program are, from left, Ella Fray, Aydin Lawson, Andrew Porter, Jacob Hooper, Connor Gotschall, B.J. Fallon and Zac Vojvodich. Damien Armbruster also is a participant. (Contributed photo)
