CADIZ — WVU Medicine Harrison Community Hospital has received a $2,000 donation from MPLX for the 2023 Annual Fund Drive to purchase ProCuity inpatient beds.

“MPLX is pleased to make this grant to Harrison Community Hospital in support of its bed replacement campaign. The hospital plays a vital role in the Harrison County community, and these beds will help ensure patient safety and comfort needs are met,” said Tina Rush, community relations representative for MPLX. “Our community is better when we partner for projects such as this.”

The ProCuity Bed features low height for all patient care environments, which improves mobility, provides advanced fall prevention technologies, and increases caregiver ergonomics. The bed features a variety of top-notch technology, including the latest sensor technology, smart technology for nurse calls, and one touch, on-the-bed control that automatically positions. Harrison Community Hospital would like to purchase 22 ProCuity beds to replace the outdated beds on its inpatient floors.

“HCH would like to provide even more safety and comfort to our patients, and it is our goal to improve our quality standards. We need the community’s help with this project,” said David Hacker, vice president of operations.
