Kristen Kakascik, second from left, was commissioned into the Navy Judge Advocate Corps. She is the daughter of Mary and Tom Kakascik of Weirton, formerly of Steubenville, and is a graduate of West Virginia University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Also participating in the commissioning ceremony were, from left, Petty Officer 1st Class Robin Kittell and former JAGs Mike Carr and John Corcoran. Kakascik will enter the Officer Development School and Naval Justice School on Aug. 12 in Newport, R.I.
