Cera guest speaker at PERI Chapter’s August meeting

STEUBENVILLE — Twenty-four members and guests of the Public Employee Retirees Inc. Chapter gathered Aug. 8 at the YWCA of Steubenville for their monthly meeting.

Harold Ray opened the meeting, and Joyce Summers led the group in prayer and opening exercises.

Reports were presented by the secretary, treasurer, legislative officer and phone committee.

State Rep. Jack Cera, D-Bellaire, was the guest speaker and addressed several topics. He reminded retirees to remain alert regarding the COLA issue. A question and answer session followed.

Judy Lamatrice won the 50/50 drawing, and Maxine DiPalma won the table prize.

The next meeting will be held at noon on Wednesday at the YWCA of Steubenville, located 320 N. Fourth St. Steubenville City Manager Jim Mavromatis will be the speaker.

Four Seasons Seniors are

entertained by Chuck Lucas

WEIRTON — The Four Seasons Seniors met at Undo’s recently with Mike DiBaise conducting the meeting.

Tony LaRosa gave the opening prayer.

Chuck Lucas entertained with singing and playing the guitar after dinner.

Reports were given by the secretary and treasurer. Winners of the 50/50 drawing were Janet Orler and Marie Scarfo.

Mike DiBaise won the gift certificate. Other prize winners were Marie Scarfo, Tom Maxwell, Martha Veritek and Ron Fallart.

The next meeting will be held Sept. 19.
