First responders thanked

-- Contributed

The Laurels of Steubenville hosted an appreciation luncheon for area first responders on Sept. 11. Box lunches were provided in a “grab-n-go” style and consisted of hot dogs, chips, fresh fruit, cookies and a beverage of choice. Lunches also were dropped off to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, the Steubenville Police Department and the Weirton Police Department. “We wanted to do something special for our local first responders, and what day could be more appropriate than 9/11?” noted Janna Rusinovich, left, director of marketing, who is shown with some of the first responders who participated. “We at the Laurels cannot thank law enforcement, firefighters and EMS enough for all they do for our community,” Rusinovich said. “They truly are the bravest of the brave and heroes to all of us.”
