Foundation makes award

Leia’s Kids, a locally based nonprofit providing hope and support to area children and their families battling childhood cancer, made its fourth award since having been established in 2017 by two-time cancer survivor Leia Hunt, 18, of Bloomingdale. Leia’s Kids provides direct financial assistance and made a $1,000 award recently to Mara Keenan, a 5-year-old fighting leukemia since April. Any child up to age 17 actively undergoing cancer treatment and living in the Ohio Valley corridor qualifies. The process begins via an e-mail sent to leiaskids.org.
