Fidelis Gamma Chapter to be part of Dec. 1 event
WEIRTON — The West Virginia Fidelis Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa met at Williams Country Club on Nov. 1 with President Jerry DeFilippo presiding.
Hostesses Lisa Subrick and Ruth Fuller provided fall decorations for the tables. Each member received a small pumpkin favor and treat bag.
Susan Cullinan of the W.Va. Alpha Kappa Chapter was a guest.
Chaplain Lisa Subrick read a selection from “The Joy of Thanksgiving” and gave the blessing for the meal.
The October minutes were read by Bonnie Queses.
Alpha Delta Kappa Month Chairman Nancy Deters named the establishments that proclaimed October as Alpha Delta Kappa Month on their marquees — Lyles Auto in Follansbee, city of Weirton, The Studio and New Cumberland Station Hill. Deters also delivered baskets of treats to Nicole Drobish, assistant principal, for the teachers and staff at Weirton Elementary School.
Altruistic Chairman Nancy Conley and Sandi Anderson are continuing to collect used magazines and small personal care items to distribute to local agencies. A thank-you note was received from Weirton Medial Center for the chapter’s donation of coloring books and crayons.
Courtesy Chairman Pat Accettolo gave a report on cards sent.
A fraternity education program was presented by Diane Higgins as she passed out pens and Post-it notes which were used in an activity stressing the nine characteristics of Alpha Delta Kappa/Mature Women.
Higgins, Janet Benzo, Ruth Fuller, Carolyn Allison and DeFilippo attended the Ohio Valley District meeting in Parkersburg. They complimented Pi Chapter for hosting a warm and welcoming event.
Fidelis Gamma sisters are looking forward to the Tri-Chapter Christmas brunch on Dec. 1 at Froehlich’s Classic Corner in Steubenville.
It will involve the three chapters — Alpha Kappa, Alpha Tau and Fidelis Gamma. Alpha Tau is host chapter with Shirley Washam and Donna Popovich as hostesses.
