Annual cookie walk Saturday
at Christ UMC in Weirton
WEIRTON — The annual cookie walk at Christ United Methodist Church will be held in the fellowship hall of the church at 3598 Pennsylvania Ave. on Weirton Heights on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Holiday cookies are $6 per dozen. Also, there will be a variety of soups for takeout at $3 per pint or $5 per quart. Orders also will be taken for pickup by calling ahead.

River’s Edge Garden Club
Christmas party is Tuesday
TORONTO — Members of the River’s Edge Garden Club of Toronto held their Nov. 12 meeting at the home of Michele Jenkins with 11 members present.
Following a light meal and refreshments served by Jenkins, she presented a program on “Victorian Gardens.”
Jenkins presided at the business meeting where October minutes were read and approved. Roll call was “Name your new plant you tried this year.” Jenkins read devotions titled “Autumn Blessings” in addition to a few excerpts from the book “American Gardens of the Nineteenth Century.”
The treasurer’s report was given and annual dues collected.
The December meeting will be a Christmas party and white elephant gift exchange on Tuesday at the home of Sherry Foglio. Each member volunteered to bring either an appetizer or dessert.
