Panhandle Post VFW Auxiliary

hosting breakfast Saturday

WEIRTON — The Panhandle Post No. 2716 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Weirton is hosting an all-you-can eat breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the VFW, located at 3435 Main St.

The breakfast includes scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, potatoes, orange juice and coffee for $7. The meal cost for children under 12 is $5, and toddlers eat for free.

“We welcome and encourage the public to come out and support our veterans,” a spokesperson said.

IRONDALE — The Irondale Volunteer Fire Department is holding its annual wing sale from noon to 6 p.m. on Fed. 3 at the Irondale Village Building.

‘House with a Clock’

WELLSBURG – The Brooke County Public Library will be showing the film “The House with a Clock in Its Walls” on Thursday, beginning at 5 p.m.

The PG rated movie is about a young orphan who is initiated into a world of magic and mayhem by his eccentric warlock uncle and a matronly witch. He uses his newfound magical abilities to help them defeat the forces of evil that threaten to destroy his new home.

to host fundraiser dinner

JEWETT — The Jewett Volunteer Fire Department will host a fundraiser baked steak and baked meatloaf dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The menu will include salad bar, bread, dessert and beverage. The meal cost is $10 for adults and $6 for children.

STEUBENVILLE — The Steubenville Saddle Club will hold its 2018 awards banquet on Jan. 19 at the Four Seasons Community Center, which is located in the former Pleasant Hill Elementary School on state Route 213.

Doors open at 5 p.m., and the dinner begins at 6 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and a dessert and a small gift for the exchange.
