Off and building!
Tuesday night marked the start of the “Weir Building” LEGO Club launched at the Mary H. Weir Public Library, 3442 Main St., Weirton, attracting 16 participants. The club will meet from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month through May, according to Nikki Jagela, children’s program services specialist. Children of all ages are welcome, and those under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. There are no fees and no registration requirements — just come and build, Jagela explained. All builders will receive a free “Weir Building” logo button. The dates for the upcoming meetings are March 19, April 16 and May 21. “We decided to start the group because LEGO play is beneficial to children’s progress of fine motor skills, creativity and social development,” Jagela said. “Our hope is that the group grows as time goes on.” For information, call (304) 797-8510.
