The Ohio Valley Youth Network/Sycamore Youth Center will host an evening of food, fun and fellowship on March 19 “as we celebrate the great things that are happening in the Ohio Valley,” said Bobbyjon Bauman, founder and CEO of the center. The benefit dinner and entertainment event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the commons of Steubenville High School, 420 N. Fourth St. The evening will include food catered by Manfred’s; performances by a number of the Valley’s Got Talent winners, including the Sycamore Ambassadors Mime Team, Jacqueline Shea, the Sycamore Youth Choir and Alexandra Kaine; and an update on the mission of the OVYN/Sycamore Youth Center. Bauman will highlight the 16 Fellowship of Christian Athletes programs, the more than 30 classes at the Sycamore Youth Center and a number of other outreach programs run by the OVYN. The event will end with an invitation for support. The OVYN is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that launched the Sycamore Youth Center last fall. It provides after-school programming for more than 100 children and young adults with tutoring, sewing classes, art classes, drama classes and more. Visit Sycamore Youth Center on Facebook or go to www.sycamorecenter.com for details about the OVYN and the center. “The tickets to the meal are free and can be reserved on eventbrite.com, but we kindly ask that you consider supporting our programs, and we will give you an opportunity to give to the OVYN/Sycamore Center later in the evening,” Bauman said. Tables of seven are available. Helping to plan the event are, from left, Paula Stevens, center building manager; Tony Corella; Bobbyjon Bauman; Pamela Shea; Sarah Gorman; Victoria Collins; Marian Taliani; and Raymond Szypulski.
