The Alpha Tau Chapter (WV) of Alpha Delta Kappa, international honorary organization for women educators, held its March meeting at EJ’s Restaurant in Chester. Velda Icard, immediate past president, presided. Chaplain Kathy Griffith gave a reading on the history of St. Patrick. After dinner, roll call was taken, and minutes were approved as distributed. Treasurer Fran Jones gave the financial report and discussed ideas for the ways and means projects. A total was announced for the funds raised at the February meeting, which was donated to cystic fibrosis. Icard, who also serves as W.Va. state recording secretary, presented ideas regarding membership, which were discussed at the executive board meeting recently held in Flatwoods. Committee reports were given. Susan Gracie, fraternity education co-chair, led the group in a “That’s A Match” activity regarding various aspects of the organization. Members also were invited to the Ohio Valley District meeting, which will be held May 4 in Parkersburg. A Master Gardner presentation will be given at the April meeting. Hostesses for the meeting were, from left, Susan Smith, Diana Yocina and Toni Hinerman.
