Children’s Book Week to be

celebrated at library system

STEUBENVILLE — Children’s Book Week, Monday through May 5, will be celebrated at the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County with a visit from Froggy, the character in Jonathan London’s books.

Children will be able to meet and take a picture with Froggy at library branches during Children’s Book Week. London’s stories about Froggy are based on true experiences with his two sons and on memories from his own childhood.

Established in 1919, Children’s Book Week is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. “Children’s Book Week is an annual celebration that inspires a lifelong love of reading for young people,” explained Jennifer Cesta, the library’s public relations coordinator.
