Founder’s Day celebrated
The Torchbearer Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority celebrated the 88th Founder’s Day on on April 27 at the Farm Restaurant and Pub in Adena. The opening ritual was led by Llelia Buffone, and the Founder’s Day pledge was led by Alberta Herrick. “The Power of the Dream” was announced as the theme for the new year. Highlights of the 2018-19 sorority year were read by Sandy Villamagna, who was applauded as the “Woman of the Year.” The chapter presented Kathy McKenna with a token of appreciation for her work as president. McKenna presented each member with a small gift of appreciation for their help throughout the year. The closing ritual was led by Llelia Buffone, and the Beta Sigma Grace was led by Marlene Hamilton. The officers for the 2019-20 year were installed. They are: President, Kathy McKenna; vice president and cultural programs, Llelia Buffone; treasurer, Ina Chidester; recording secretary, Sandy Villamagna; corresponding secretary and publicity, Marlene Hamilton; extension officer, Linda Cole; and special projects, Alberta Herrick and Nancy Lonetto.
