‘A Universe of Stories’ reading club begins Monday

STEUBENVILLE — “A Universe of Stories” Summer Reading Club begins at the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County on Monday.

The summer reading club is for all ages — children, teens and adults, according to Jennifer Cesta, the library’s public relations coordinator. “Explore the wonders of the universe through reading, activities and a chance to win prizes such as a drone, telescope or tickets to Kings Island,” she said.

“We’re kicking off the summer activities with ‘Blast Off Into Space!’ that will help kids explore space as we travel to the outer reaches of our solar system,” Cesta noted.

“First, we will look closely at the Earth’s atmosphere and see just how vital it is to humans,” she continued. “Then we will begin our journey, dodging comets and meteors and make our first stop on the moon. Take a picture and put your boot into the moon’s surface. And, if that’s not enough, prepare for liftoff with a miniature rocket launch,” Cesta continued.

The schedule notes when “Blast Off Into Space” is scheduled at various branch locations.
