Chess competition held
Members of the Fellowship of the Pawns Chess Club competed July 13 in the 2019 Pennsylvania State Game/45 Minutes Championship held in Pittsburgh. Mason Gray, left, played in the scholastic division, and Phillip Rawson, right, and Coach Gary Rawson competed in the premier section with Phillip earning a second-place trophy in the under 1,200 division. The Fellowship of the Pawns Chess Club is a community club that meets from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays at First Westminster Presbyterian Church, 235 N. Fourth St., Steubenville.
