Representatives of Macy’s at The Mall at Robinson presented a check for $2,000 on Aug. 3 to Francesca Carinci, front right, for the Grand Theater Restoration Project. The donation was a thank you for the Mother’s Day pop-up store event held May 4 at the Historic Fort Steuben Visitor Center in Steubenville. “The event was a great success, and the team from Macy’s of Robinson won a district competition,” noted Carinci, who served as the event coordinator and is on the board of the Grand Theater Restoration Project. “I was representing the Grand Theater, and Macy’s asked they be permitted to have another event in Steubenville in October to promote holiday preview fashion. Macy’s still cares about their customers in Steubenville and has been a generous supporter of the Grand Theater restoration effort,” Carinci said. “The board of directors of the Grand Theater Restoration will choose a day in October to bring another ‘pop-up’ Macy’s store to Steubenville. Macy’s will bring a mobile store to the visitor’s center with latest holiday fashions for sale. They also will bring back the Friends and Family sale event with big discounts, cash cards and plenty of other surprises,” she added.
