Wintersville United Methodist Church recently presented a check to Chris Hyland of the Cancer Dietary Initiative for $874. The love offering was collected by the church’s Vacation Bible School in July. The church also held a food drive, and the children collected more than 900 boxes of cereal, macaroni and cheese, canned fruit and canned meat. The Cancer Dietary Initiative is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the primary purpose of providing nutritional needs to cancer patients and their immediate families while they undergo the hardships of cancer diagnosis and treatment. With Hyland, left, are Pastor Clint Quillen and Tiffany Manley, director of youth and VBS ministries.
