Alpha Tau chapter meets

The Alpha Tau chapter (WV) of Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honorary Organization for Women Educators held its November meeting at Trinity United Methodist Church in New Cumberland where, from left, Susan Gracie, Rita Schmitt and Tammy Fields served as hostesses. President Amanda Fisher presided at the meeting where Chaplain Kathy Griffith read “A Meaningful Thanksgiving” as part of the thought for the day. Treasurer Fran Jones gave the financial report and discussed the progress of the scholarship fundraisers. Membership Chairman Velda Icard introduced two guests. Committee reports were given. The schedule for members who will be ringing the bells for the Salvation Army was distributed and reviewed. Information regarding the tri-chapter Christmas brunch was distributed. The group participated in a hands-on craft program presented by member Diana Yocina. Participants learned how to make six-loop bows and decorated a grapevine angel. The next meeting will be a tri-chapter meeting with Alpha Kappa and Fidelis Gamma. The brunch will be held Dec. 7 at Scaffidi’s Restaurant in Steubenville.
