Library announces variety

of programs and activities

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has planned various programs and activities at its locations, including:

Main Library, (740) 282-9782

Adults: The “Leading the Way” book club, in partnership with Trinity Health System and Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, will meet at 8 a.m. on Dec. 18 at Trinity West.

The book to be discussed is “Dare to Lead” by Brene Brown. Call the main library for information and to join.

Regular book club will meet for discussion at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 18. Call to join.

Children: Play and Learn the Alphabet will be at 11 a.m. and at 6 p.m. on Dec. 16. Parents with children ages2-6 will play with letter-learning toys that help with early literacy skills. No registration is required.

Adults and teens: Teens can visit the library to play games on Wii, Playstation and XBOX360 on Dec. 18 from 5:30-7 p.m.

Children: Enjoy listening to Santa stories on Dec. 17 at 10:30 a.m.

Put on your PJ’s for Polar Express night at the library, which will be held at 6 p.m. on Dec. 20. Participants are asked to register.

Babygarten, for parents with children birth to 2, will be held Dec. 19 at 10:30 a.m. Stop in for this lapsit program that shares songs, books and rhymes. No registration is necessary.

Children: Make a winter craft to take home on Dec. 17 at 4 p.m.

Reservations due by Saturday

for Brooke AARP meeting

WELLSBURG — Brooke AARP Chapter 3910 will meet at noon Dec. 19 at the Wellsburg Moose Lodge.

Singer Marvin Whiteman will be the program. Members are encouraged to arrive early for the bake sale.

Reservations should be made by calling (304) 737-1018 no later than Saturday.

Computer help being offered at

Brooke County Public Library

WELLSBURG — Those seeking help with basic computer skills, such as creating and using e-mail, or using smartphones and other e-devices may stop by the Brooke County Public Library from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 20.

Attendees may bring their own charged device, such as smartphone or tablet, or use one of the library’s computers.

Instruction is provided by a representative of the West Virginia University Extension Office or library staff.
