A helping hand for the Community Bread Basket
When Richard and Patty Soplinski of Paris, Pa., saw the needs of Community Bread Basket, they decided to do something positive to help, according to Jim Pauchnik, CBB board member. The Soplinski family has a traditional Christmas celebration. “This year we decided to help others rather than exchange gifts in the family,” explained Patty Soplinski. While family members gathered as they normally do, each family contributed some non-perishable items to be used to feed the less fortunate. “By contributing as a family, Community Bread Basket will be able to help many families,” Pauchnik said, expressing special thanks to Rich and Patty Soplinski, Mike and Veronica Skinner, Joe and Bernice Balog, Jay and Sandy Skopels, Theresa and Lore Martires, Ada, Brandon, Alicia and Chelsey Palmeri and Dave and Marylou Pitman. Tara Sheperd, program administrator for Community Bread Basket, said that this type of donations and volunteers is what makes Community Bread Basket successful. Groups or individual interested in volunteering or those wanting information can call (304) 748-7595 or come to 3501 West St., Weirton. Sheperd is shown with Bailey Soplinski and some of the donations.
