Cross Creek Tomahawks

The Cross Creek Tomahawks will meet at 3 p.m. on March 15 at the School of Bright Promise in Steubenville.

Mallory Birney was in charge at the club’s Feb. 16 meeting, also held at the School of Bright Promise and attended by 13 people. Members worked on their fundraiser, deciding on selling chocolate-covered pretzels and Oreos. Members also worked on window decorating for McDonald’s and discussed project selection and Contest Day.

The group had one Cloverbud sign up for the Iron Chef. Ava Aftanas attended the 4-H Overnighter. Everyone enjoyed the winter carnival, it was noted.

A community service project will involve making sandwiches for the Friendship Room and Urban Mission.

Friends and Neighbors

The Friends and Neighbors 4-H Club will meet at 6:15 p.m. on March 20 at Colonial Baptist Church’s Ryan Center in Wintersville. They will decide how much to give to the Mackenzie Smith Scholarship Fund.

There were 12 members present at the club’s Feb. 28 meeting, led by Emma Morrison.

Members decided to donate items to the Indian Creek food pantry and the Jefferson County Humane Society for their community service projects. They also selected gray to be the color of the club T-shirts.

Members played “Two Truths and a Lie” for their mixer and “Ships and Recreation” as their recreation. Kaity Morrison gave a safety report, and Drew Saiter, Cole Saiter and Lindsey Zifzal did demonstrations. They also took pictures for the window display.
